Welcome to The Oozy Channel Keep!

Who can resist a welcome from Lionel Richie? I can't, and you would receive one if you visited my home. If you can resist, you can also smoosh your feet into his face as well!

Welcome to The Oozy Channel Keep, a Classical Music recording blog.

You will find recording reviews on this site, mostly of the Classical Music variety. This organization is not very old as an online presence, so there is still quite a lot of digital space for us to fill; please be patient as we continue to upload more and more content. You can find more about us in the About section, as well as our original Opening Day Announcement.

The time required to upload our large backlog of reviews from the 1990s to the present is taking much longer than originally anticipated. Much of this is due to personal time constraints, but also, I want to continue proactively listening to music. Thus, I have ended up focusing my recent blog posts more on my current listening as of late. As Jim Croce says:

If I could save time in a bottleThe first thing that I'd like to doIs to save every day'Til eternity passes awayJust to spend them with you

How to search around?

Well, you can either use the tiny white search bar in the top left, or head on over to the Composers page to search what we have available.

Also, at the bottom of each review and blog post are 'labels' which, when selected, will send you to a specific topic, grabbing content from across our blog, such as specific conductors, performers, ensembles, solo instruments, music labels, etc. you may be interested in.

If you want to find genres which tickle your fancy, generally they are collated at the top bar of the blog. Click below to follow some of the more popular genres:

Symphonies

Concertos

Choral Music

Chamber Music

Vocal Music

 and Incidental Music

Series

Also we have a few series to check out. Hopefully we will have more in the future, but select any of the below to explore:

Works Series: This is when I take a look at individual recordings from a larger set. I am currently wrapping up the Symphonies of Haydn, for example, and completed the Masses of Cherubini a while back.

Christmas Music: I do have a love of the Yuletide season, especially as it relates to Classical Music. Vaughan Williams comes immediately to mind. I also will list popular and jazz recordings, such as Frank Sinatra or The Swingle Singers, for example.

Hymns: This is a new series I am trying, centering in on my past as an occasional supply church organist.

As always, feel free to leave a note on any post. If you see any broken images or videos, please comment so I can get it fixed!
