Paul Dukas
1865-1935
Today, Paul Dukas must be most famously known as composer of The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Biographically speaking, I primarily know Dukas as a teacher at the Paris Conservatory. I can't say I know much music from the composer, he apparently wasn't very prolific, but what I have heard, I like very much.
His major works contain one symphony, one ballet, and one opera amongst a smattering of others.
But, to be ubiquitously remembered for one item should please the hardest of hearts. Hopefully that would be the case with Dukas.
