Daniel Pinkham

Daniel Pinkham
1923-2006

US composer Daniel Pinkham was a lifelong resident on the East Coast, with a famous association with the Boston Conservatory.

While I mainly know Pinkham for his choral music, particularly that terrific Christmas Cantata, in most respects the composer was widely known for his organ music and organ performance.

His music can range from the very simple to extremely tough nuts to crack, and the genres he composed for ranged far and wide.

Recordings, however, are few and far between for Pinkham, and some released on LP never made it to the digital age. It seems his star has since waned, lost amongst other mid-20th Century composers.
